About

Who's actually behind this.

HOMERUNYEP is built and run by Dave Peters, operating as Sharp Communications LLC. Here's the real, full picture — not just a name in a footer.

Where the idea actually came from

This isn't a business plan looking for a cause. It came from the other direction — a long stretch of real, hands-on time in youth enrichment, and a career spent learning how to make an honest message actually land, brought together into one idea.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Journalism, with an emphasis in Public Relations, from Mankato State University, then went on to complete the copywriting program at The Creative Circus — one of the most selective portfolio schools in advertising. My work from that career has won local, regional, national, and international awards for both creativity and effectiveness. That background is the reason HOMERUNYEP's own copy — on this site, in its scripts, in how it talks to merchants and leaders — gets real, deliberate attention. It's not incidental; it's the actual craft I've spent a career on.

Where the baseball comes from

The name, the naming scheme for every ad space, the diamond in the video scripts — none of it is a marketing gimmick bolted on after the fact. I've coached baseball for 17 years, the last 5 at the high school level. That's a real, long relationship with the game, and with coaching kids specifically — HOMERUNYEP's whole shape grew out of it, not the other way around.

Family, and showing up

I've been married 30 years, and I'm a father to three boys. I'd describe myself as a consummate volunteer — the kind of person who shows up for the unglamorous, ongoing work youth programs actually run on, not just the visible parts.

Recognition

Northern Star Scouting — Silver Beaver, 2026

The Silver Beaver is a council-level honor for outstanding service to youth — one I hold with real pride, and one I think matters more here than almost any other line on this page. It's not a credential I'm claiming for this business; it's independent recognition, from Scouting itself, of the actual work this business is built to support.

The business itself, plainly

HOMERUNYEP is operated by Sharp Communications LLC — a real, for-profit company, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. Being for-profit doesn't make the community benefit less real; it just means the business has to actually earn its way, the same as any merchant advertising through it does.
